Owl Fingerless Gloves Knitting Pattern

Work each glove flat on two straight needles, then sew the side and thumb seams. Knit and purl stitches, increases and cable crossings form the owl. Fingers stay free while the cuffs warm your hands.

Choose your yarn colour and add bead, gem or button eyes. The PDF has separate left- and right-hand directions, stitch abbreviations, finishing tips and linked technique help.

The same stitch counts make Small, Medium and Large; change needle size as shown below. The PDF gives no finished hand measurements or numeric US/EU clothing sizes. Check your gauge and fit rather than choosing by clothing size.

Gauge on 4 mm / US 6 needles in stockinette: 10 stitches and 16 rows per 2 in / about 5 cm. Make a swatch before you start.

Worsted-weight yarn; the PDF says a standard-size ball. Two straight needles in the size for your chosen fit, a cable needle, stitch holder, tapestry needle and buttons or gems for the eyes.

You will use knit, purl, M1 and PM1 increases, C4F and C4B cables, held thumb stitches and sewing. Best chosen by these skills rather than a promised beginner level. Linked stitch help is included.
