Yarn, Tools & Skill Level
Aran-weight yarn. For both mittens, main/contrast yardage by size: baby 30/3 yd; toddler 50/4 yd; child 65/5 yd; teen 75/7 yd; adult 90/8 yd; adult large 120/10 yd. US 8 / 5 mm double-pointed or circular needles for magic loop; optional smaller needles for a tighter cuff. Stitch marker, yarn needle, scissors and scrap yarn. Gauge: 18 stitches × 24 rows per 4 in / 10 cm. The source rates this intermediate.
