Classic Teddy Bear Gift Knitting Pattern

Knit a traditional teddy with a shaped muzzle, rounded ears and soft paws. Follow the written directions and photos, then choose sewn or movable joints.

Approximately 38 cm / 15 in standing, 27 cm / 10.5 in sitting, with a 32 cm / 12.5 in arm span. Leg length approximately 16 cm / 6.25 in. Size depends on yarn and gauge.

3.25 mm / US 3 needles, wool sewing needle, around 110 g washable toy filling, markers, tape measure, scissors and pins. DK yarn: approximately 100–105 g main colour, 25 g contrast and 4 g for nose/eyes. Optional 12 mm safety eyes and toy joints. Embroider eyes and choose suitable finishing for the intended recipient. Gauge: 25 stitches and 34 rows per 10 cm / 4 in. Requires shaping, short rows, sewing and toy assembly.
