About This Pattern

Make a family of cosy hats with the same plaited cable detail. Choose the size and either the DK or chunky-yarn version, then knit flat and seam.

Size & Fit

Four head sizes: 15–17.5, 17.5–20, 20–22 and 22–24 in / approximately 38–44.5, 44.5–50.8, 50.8–55.9 and 55.9–61 cm. Finished heights: 6, 6.75, 7.5 and 8.25 in / approximately 15.2, 17.1, 19.1 and 21 cm.

Yarn, Tools & Skill Level

DK: 50–90 g with 3.25 mm and 4 mm needles; chunky: 80–130 g with 5 mm and 6 mm needles. Cable needle and tapestry needle. DK gauge: 22 stitches and 30 rows per 10 cm / 4 in; chunky gauge: 14 stitches and 20 rows. Requires knit, purl, cables, shaping and seaming.
